Maryland Handgun Permit Renewal Course
Initial Maryland Wear and Carry Permits expire the last day of the permit holder’s birth month following two (2) years after the date the permit is issued, three (3) years each subsequent renewal. Unless exempt, you must complete an 8-hour firearms training course within two years of submitting your renewal application.
Renewal applications not received by the expiration date, must begin as a new applicant and complete all requirements necessary for an initial application.

This two-part course meets the firearms training eligibility requirements to renew the Maryland Handgun Permit.
Part 1 – In-Person Training: 12:00pm - 6:00pm
Exact class location will be released to registered students only.
Objectives:
- State Firearm Law
- Home Firearm Safety
- Ethical Use of Force
- Concealed Carry Fundamentals
Part 2 – Range Qualification
- Live-fire gun safety and proficiency with a minimum score of 70% accuracy.

Upon successful completion of this course, student will receive:
1 – Maryland MSP 29-14 Certified Qualification Renewal Score Sheet
2 – Utah Concealed Firearms Permit Weapons Familiarity Certificate
This Maryland Handgun Permit Recertification Course is conducted by Maryland Qualified Handgun Instructors.

Range Gear:
Pistol with at least one magazine
Hearing and eye protection
Range appropriate clothing
Ammunition: 25 rounds FMJ
There will be NO LIVE AMMUNITION allowed during the classroom portion of training.

State application fees are not included in class price.
You must be 21+ and legally able to possess a firearm with valid government photo ID to attend this course.
