In 2017, the District's requirement that applicants show a “good reason” to fear injury to his or her person or property to receive a concealed carry permit was struck down by a federal appeals court in Wrenn v. District of Columbia. Today, both residents and non-residents are able to obtain a DC CPL after completing the training requirements and are a suitable person to be permitted.
Multi-State Carry Permit Courses
The best way to obtain multiple permit certifications, consecutively with one 16-hour course. These courses are trained by certified firearm instructors and exceeds the minimum course requirements for each state. Maryland Wear & Carry Permit Renewal Course
Initial Maryland Wear and Carry Permits expire the last day of the permit holder’s birth month following two (2) years after the date the permit is issued, three (3) years each subsequent renewal.
Maryland Wear and Carry Permit renewal training is 8-hours of instruction for a renewal applicants. DMV CARRY’s renewal course are conducted by Qualified Handgun Instructor and include instruction on state firearm law, home firearm safety, handgun mechanisms and operation, and a component that requires the applicant to demonstrate gun safety and proficiency with a minimum score of 70% accuracy.
