PART-I: Classroom Training (9:00 am – 1:00 pm)

Objectives:

  • Firearm Safety

  • Firearm Safety in the Home

  • Different types of pistols and which one is best for you

  • Basics of ammunition

  • Fundamentals of pistol shooting

  • Proper gun cleaning and maintenance

  • How to maintain your skills

  • State firearm laws

 

Part-II: 1:1 Live-fire Range Training

Range time will be available the following day or you may schedule range training for a future convenient day and time.

Range Location: 
NRA Range, Fairfax, VA

Firearms Available for Use:  If you don't own a firearm yet, no worries! We provide firearms for practice during the course, so you can focus on learning without the immediate need to purchase.

 

Upon successful completion of this course, student will receive:

1 – NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting, Instructor Led – Completion Certificate

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • No. of Students: 3 – 7

  • Prerequisite: None

  • Class Supplies:

    • NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting; provided

    • Pen and paper

  • Range Gear:

    • Pistol with at least one magazine; rentals available

    • Hearing and eye protection

    • Range appropriate clothing

    • Ammunition: 50 rounds FMJ

Range fees and ammunition not included in class cost. Ammunition is available for purchase at the range.

NO LIVE AMMUNITION allowed during the classroom portion of training.

Exact classroom location will be released to registered students only

Must be 21+ and legally able to possess a firearm with valid government photo ID to attend this course. 

Although not common, class date and location may change depending on instructor and location availability.
